For many years, d.HOLIDAY has built and nurtured long-standing collaborations with kidney patient associations around the world. These partnerships are not only valuable — they are a fundamental pillar of our mission to empower dialysis patients to live fulfilling lives. Together, we work to raise awareness of the opportunity to travel, while also providing the practical support needed to make it a reality.

At Diaverum, we believe that reducing the fear and anxiety associated with travel is just as important as providing high-quality clinical care. By working closely with kidney associations, we empower patients with confidence, reassurance, and guidance — transforming travel from something uncertain into an enriching and uplifting part of life.

This commitment was recently presented during the Global Summit on Kidney Disease Innovations, held on 18–19 May 2026 and hosted by the American Association of Kidney Patients in partnership with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. A Diaverum representative was invited to share insights on how innovation, trust, and global collaboration are shaping the future of kidney care.

Elenor Mårtensson, Global Customer Manager at Diaverum, presented “d.HOLIDAY – Empowering Patients to Travel”, highlighting not only the importance of advancing medical solutions, but also the human impact behind them — enabling patients to live fuller, freer lives, regardless of their treatment.

At the heart of our d.HOLIDAY programme is the belief that patients on dialysis should be able to travel safely and confidently across borders.

A key part of this mission is our close collaboration with kidney patient associations worldwide. Together, we work to:

  • Raise awareness about the possibility of travelling while on dialysis

  • Break down barriers and misconceptions around kidney disease

  • Empower patients and their families with knowledge, confidence, and support

  • Advocate for more accessible, patient-centred care globally

Through partnerships, education, and continuous innovation, we are helping to reshape what life with kidney disease can look like — moving from limitations to possibilities.
