The Southernmost of the Baltic states, Lithuania’s landscape is dotted with an abundance of golden beaches, lakes and emerald-green forests that offer themselves up to cyclists, hikers and beach goers. Its capital, Vilnius, has boomed in recent years as a popular spot for visitors, offering a combination of churches, baroque finery, cobblestoned streets and a lively cultural scene.
Some other of Lithuania’s highlights include Kaunas and the spa resort of Druskininkai, where 19th century architectural gems co-exist with imposing Soviet structures.
